History of the ADJPL

This was formed in 1968 at a meeting held at Nigg bay GC on Tuesday 19 th March. Golf clubs represented were Bon Accord, Caledonian, Hazlehead, Nigg Bay, Stonehaven and Victoria. Northern joined the league later in 1968.It was agreed to call the association the, Junior Section Inter Club Competition, later changed to ADJPL. Victoria did not play in the League. The first secretary was Bill Christie from Nigg Bay GC from 1968-1979Then Bill Adams from Caledonia GC from 1979-1987. Richard Smith from Royal Aberdeen took over the reins from 1987-1992. My predecessor, Gordon T Murray from Hazlehead then took control from 1992 to 2022, having served many years with Scottish Golf. The organisation has encountered many changes in formats and amount of teams taking part sincethen, with only one of the founding clubs still participating, Stonehaven.
